Creating a blog.....

Hello fellow bloggers, don't judge me by what you see here! As a 48 yo student with 3 kids, one of them older than some of you, this is a new experience. As my 24 yo daughter says, I am too old to be doing this kind of stuff.... I am looking forward to learning lots of new things this semester, I will prove that you CAN teach an old dog new tricks! My husband just shakes his head at this, he is 58yo..... I have been in nursing since 1981. I initially started out as an LPN, then did an LPN to RN articulation program at Gulf Coast Community College in Panama City, FL. I really miss the Gulf of Mexico! After moving back "home" to Wilmington to be closer to my family, I worked in Ambulatory Surgery, Endoscopy, a surgeon's office, home health, SurgCare, and am now back at NHRMC in the per diem program working in Surgical Services. I am a 10 year breast cancer survivor, and 3 week thyroid cancer survivor.... I am going to be "radioactive" in September, but I am alive and kickin'. I love to read, attempt to play golf, draw, hang out with horses at my barn, and spend time with family and friends. It has been a long-time goal of mine to do the RN to BSN program, so here I am!! I hope to see you all at some point in my education, not just online.....
